Headliner Support Strips

Hello guys. I am in the process of installing a headliner for my 72 442. I got the headliner from Legendary. My question is how many support strips/bow trips are in the headliner. I took 4 of them out of the old liner when I stripped the care 5yrs ago and bundled them together. It appears that one should be in the center since the headliner I got has 5 places to attach the strips. Now on the inside of the roof where the strips are going to go there were only 4 places that have drilled holes for the strips ,2 in the back area and 2 in the front area. I dont remember there being a center strip. If anyone knows how many strips there should be please let me know before I start glueing the line down. I have already placed the 4 supports in the headliner and have mounted them in place but the center in my opinion looks like it might need a support there.

It's been a while since I pulled a headliner, but I just went to the garage and took these. Yes there is a smaller, stiff wire that's maybe half the diameter of the rods. Also, this doesn't have holes in the roof but instead clips to the plastic clips in the photos. It runs underneath the dome light. Let me know if you have any questions or want to see any other views.

John

thanks I was thinking on those lines that if there was another strip it had to be something like that.

Maybe the 442 body is different, but my Supreme had 5 rods that go through the headliner. I was just missing a couple of the clips that hold them to the ceiling. My old headliner (not original) did have that smaller rod going through, but it was pretty well rusted away, so I chucked it. Didn't need it with the new headliner.
