i found a power bucket seat unit finally. i was wondering if there is any maintenance i should do before installing it. i tested it and it works but should i lube the tracks or cables or? if so what do you use on them? it looked like the belt was slipping a little. is there a replacement for it?

Personally I would clean, paint and lubricate everything. I used High Temp CV joint grease on mine.

Absolutely, clean and lube everything. Carefully open the transmission to be sure the gears are lubricated. The original grease is probably dry and hard and is not getting on the gears any longer. Keeping everything well lubed will help the motor last a lot longer.

just took the transmission apart. now i know why the belt was slipping. the grease was all gummed up like you were saying. it didn't even want to come apart. after i cleaned it all up it looks like new. the only thing is, the book said to use lubriplate 630aaw on all the moving parts. i googled it and that stuff is expensive. is there an equivalent i can use. i know 66ninetyeight said cv grease but just wondering what is best. i will post a picture of the transmission later, i can't believe how clean it is.

i decided to use some grease that i use on my 3 & 4 wheeler builds. i think it will work fine. i got it back together with clean greased tracks and screw for the up and down and the belt don't slip anymore.

it was easier than i thought it would be. i have a setup out of a 66 98 that i am thinking about cleaning up and see what it will be like after it is done. i took it out last year thinking i would try to modify it to work on a bucket seat but wasn't going to work without major work.
