67 cutlass back seat/windows

Model: 1967 Cutlass F-85 Hard Top

Need to re-align the back windows but can't get the back seat out to remove side panels. Should the back seat pop right out, is there a lever? I've tried to stretch everything so I can see behind, but am stumbled. I figured out how to remove cranks by pulling the spring pins off, so got that down, just can't pull out seat.

There is a hook on floor on each side for the seat bottom. So push the bottom of the bottom seat to the rear of the car and it should unhook. You have to push pretty hard. The seat back is bolted at the bottom. After removing the bolts you swing it out a little then lift it off the hooks at the top.

Don,
I'm having the same trouble getting the seats out of my newly acquired '69 Cutlass S. I'm guessing it's a similar setup as the above car...?

The best way I have found is push the front seat or seats as foward as you can get them then use them as leverage as you use your knees to push the rear seat in and up

Exactly what Don and Wes are describing. Yes, this would be the same for 1969 too. Here's a couple pictures from a parts car.

You can see the two hooks spot welded to the floorboard along the ridge behind the back seat foot wells.

Here's one of the hooks with my little finger in it. You can see that you'll need to push in and then lift up.

Here's the underside of the back seat bottom. I'm pointing at one of the two "rods" welded to the seat springs that slip into the hook on the floorboard. As the other guys said, sometimes you have to push pretty hard to flex the seat springs enough to move this back and up. I admit, there have been times I walked away and came back again later. And other times I grabbed a big pry bar and damaged the seat

Good Luck! John
