Sun Visor Vanity Mirror

I am replacing my sun visor vanity mirror that uses the pegs and bushings. What are the tricks to install it? My bushings are not broke and complete, but the pegs on the mirror are extremely tight and do not want to push into the bushings. I am afraid of breaking the new glass mirror. Does the visor need to be off the car and on a hard surface? What are the tricks.

Thanks,
Noel

Thanks 72455. I had read your post before posting on here and it was informative. In the end I removed the sun visor from the car and placed it on a hard flat surface. I then smeared some Vaseline on the pegs and carefully pressed hard on the mirror. Luckily the pegs snapped in and the mirror did not break.

Thanks for letting us know how you got it mounted. I always wondered about that.
