I can't seem to find a solid answer, and would rather not tear the seat out twice...but what is the size for the rear seat belts in the '69 442? I'm looking to replace my rear belts/deluxe buckles as they've gotten pretty roached from the years in the barn with the mice. Fronts are fine, so only looking for rears.
Anyone even have a set they could measure? Yes, I could measure mine..but I'd rather not yank the seat out twice. I think I've seen something like 34" on one side and 20" on the other (buckle side & belt side) but I want to make sure before I order some.
Alright, gonna bring this thread back around. I picked up a Deluxe buckle with belt at OCA Nats, and when I got back to the car I realized it was much shorter than the current buckle side in the car (both large buckles).
So, what is the correct length of the buckle side of the belt for the rear seats? Alternatively, how do you disassemble the deluxe belts? I've tried prying apart the old one (albeit still in the car) and that has been a nightmare.
Yes, just need to pry it up a bit. I used a small screwdriver to pry one end up, then the other. After you do the first one you’ll have no problem with the rest.
Revivng this for posterity. On my 70 W-31 I have the rear seat and belts out. I've had this car since 1982 so pretty sure this part is original. Here's the part numbers on the belts and their lengths. I measured mounting hole to center of buckle and buckle mate. I had all this out when I had body off of frame so I think I'm missing a belt side part, but here it is:
REAR SEAT BELT INFORMATION:
BUCKLE STRAP
PT# LEN QTY MODEL#
2C70 34" 2 1911
4E70 38" 1 1901
BELT SIDE
2C70 21" 2 1911
For the disassembly I forgot how I did it and found a youtube video online, but here's the basics:
Insert a small/thin slotted screwdriver in the slot where the red arrow points and pry up and out. Once you get it aout abit, insert another similar screwdriver where the green arrow is and pry upwards. You then should be able to pull ou the first screwdriver and pry up at the blue arrow.
Hope this helps:
