can anyone tell me how to remove my steering wheel from my car? I have the center cap, nut and washer removed and wheel is loose, but the wires are keeping me from taking the wheel off! what is the trick? do I have take horn buttons apart and fish the wires thru? I tried to pull the wires out but they fell like they are attached to a spring.

 

The wires have a plastic retainer in the tube that they sit in. Some of these retainers are friction fit and some are quarter turn.
