76 Olds 98 Regency Clock Repair

Hello!

I have an olds 98 clock that has a small plastic gear that has dry rotted. This is common with plastic gears of this age as I am well aware. A few questions for anyone with experience with the Regency clock,

Is there a source for plastic clock gears that are a known replacement?
Is it better to try and convert the mechanism? I will provide pictures and have a video of the gear as well.

Thank you!

If it's the Regency digital rollover clock, not aware of ANYONE repairing these. You'd think as common as they were in C-body GM cars and Chryslers of all stripes someone would do them.

I ended up getting a Delta 88 clock blankoff plate and putting an 80s AM/FM/cassette ETR in my 76 Regency. So I still technically have a digital clock...

Damn plastic gears!

I emailed clockworks regarding the clock repair. I sent a picture of the gear and explained the issue. The gentleman there said they could repair the clock. Has anyone had a 76 98 regency clock succesfully repaired by clockworks that has a bad gear?

If i could my hands on a gear that was intact and with enough integrity that it would survive being removed from the clock mechanism, I could source a custom replacement.

There are people in the world injection molding plastic gears and 3d printing them as well. Apparently the clock in the 76 Cadillac is known to have this issue. If they can make a gear for a Tascam portastudio, they can make a gear for a 1976 General Time clock!

I would like to put a cassette player in the dash, what did you put in yours? I would like something that drops in without too much hassel.
