Was the OE install of the seat frame bolted to the floor on top of the carpet, or were there relief cuts in the carpet to allow the seat frame to be bolted directly to the floor panel? Thanks.

Let the carpet sit in the sun for at least 2 weeks like in the bedroom in the sun or outside not in the rain. As the ink takes time to dry and shrink and it will. That's before you install it.

Was a high beam head light switch carpet grommet OE in '70 - '72 Cutlass?

I was on my '72 when I replaced carpet and grommet. Still have the original grommet somewhere...

Like the Dalilama says....it was definitely used on the original carpets so install it on your replacement set. It provides karma/shakra between your carpet, your feet and the electrical field in the switch....an important feature.

Yep, that was in the original carpet in both my 70 and 71, as well as the repro carpet I put in my 71 way back in the 90s.
