Window felt on door panel

I have searched and searched, can't find the answer, so this must be a stupid question. How do you change the window felt that looks to be stapled to the door panel?

Thanks

the staples need to be removed. you can get behind them with a small screwdriver and open them up, or grind the folds of the staple, but they need to be removed.
When replacing the weatherstrip, you can use a rivet to reattach, or put new staples in them, which is time consuming, but that is how I prefer to do it.

thanks
tim

where in Ky are you?

Thank you. I am more than a bit slow sometimes, so please keep working with me here. Rivet heads won't stick out too far and damage the glass? How do you staple them back on? Drill small holes, slip org staples back in, then re-bend?

I'm in Georgetown. It's right outside Lexington.

Thanks again

I am not to far from you...I am in Alexandria, which is north of Lexington about 45 minutes....

the rivits will not interfere.

I prefer to re-staple myself, but like I said, it is time consuming. I think some of the new kits come with new staples. If not, most hardware stores sell wire that can be used also...or even paper clips can be cut and formed to make staples!

I am in the process of the same project, on a 69....

I will pm you my phone number if I can be of help...
