What carpet to order for auto with console
What carpet to order for auto with console
I have a 1970 cutlass supreme coupe, I have auto and the console with floor shifter. I see carpets for auto or 4speed with console. I don’t see auto with auto & console anywhere. What would work best?

Clarify what you're asking.....it's not clear from what you wrote above.
You can always just order a carpet set for a column shift AUTO TRANS car and deal w/any cutouts for the console stuff yourself.
Whatever you do....DO NOT order for a manual floor shift (even if that is what a person has).

I would assume that the one for the manual is going to be cut for the shifter and the one for the auto is not (made for column shift cars). In my experience carpet usually doesn't come cut for shifters anyway so I would just order the one for the automatic and cut it myself.
I was thinking since the consoles are the same for my car and a 4speed car, that the 4speed carpet would have less to cut apart. I know the automatic shifter sits back a little farther. Just wondering why they don’t offer a carpet for a factory automatic on the floor.
They do offer that carpet last time I checked. If not it's a simple matter to cut out what is required for the floor shift auto setup.
Also......Again...DO NOT order 4 speed floor shift carpet for your car or ANY '70-2 Cutlass/442. You will regret it. They make the 4 speed floor shift carpets w/the shifter hump way oversized and the tunnel area overall seems to be larger. That creates a huge mess with the carpet sitting way above the tunnel. These carpet sets are not made very well but the price is relatively low.

Buy the full front carpet set for a 2-door hard top and cut your own holes.
Never heard of a good carpet set for a console, stick or column. Its all one set cut to fit.

^^THIS! The AT console does not require any additional shifter hump, so the uncut carpet fits just fine. Since it has no precut holes, you can trim it to fit exactly. Be sure it is the carpet for bucket seats, not bench.
