Water Shields Install

What's the best thing to use to re-install the water shields between the doors and the door panels? Factory used something that looks like black silly putty and is still somewhat pliable (but not sticky) after all these years. Is there a special removable type silicon that could be used? Thanks.

No...don't use silicone, you won't be able to remove them again w/o destroying them Use 3M strip caulk, or I think it's called Mortile weatherstripping, you can get it from Home depot. It's not black, but doesn't harden. A few pieces of duct tape to hold the top and MAKE SURE you tuck the bottom in the slot or your door panels may get wet.
