Seat covers

I have a 72 Cutlass with a bench seat. The seat has some rips in it. I have not decided whether or not to put buckets in it so I'm considering cheap a seat cover over the vinyl for a year or two. The extra costs of buckets, console, shifter makes me want to put that off while I fix some rust. Anyone know of a seat cover that will work? It has the 50/50 split but no armrest that folds down.

That is a rare bird these days. I'd check EBay & swap meets.

I'm pretty sure OPG has nice fitted covers that would hog ring on your bench. Sell the seat later and recover 1/2 the cost for a couple years use. Unless you meant those quick and dirty, stretch-o-covers? Those are awful. Cheap yes but they look terrible. A freakin' horse blanket looks better!

Back in the day there many choices in the slip over covers for bench seats. I did a quick search and it's slim pickins for them now. I agree with White knuckles on just recovering your current bench seat with stock seat covers or go see what a shop would charge for an inexpensive custom approach.

I'll keep looking and might end up recovering the bench with cloth. The vinyl is too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter.
