According to my book, 987 is white interior with a notch back bench seat.
The body number on your trim tag has nothing to do with the last 6 digits of your VIN - the body number is assigned by Fisher Body.
The 090 is the time build code. 09 means September 1970. There's something not right with the last 0. It should be an A, B, C, or D, indicating the full weeks of September 1970. I suspect what you saw as an 0 is really a C. 09C would mean your car was built in September 1970 (the 09 part), the third week of that month (the C part; Sept. 21-25, 1970).
Everything else you show is the same as my book says.

Thanks!!!!.......you are correct....it is a "C" not a zero....
Looking at a '71 SX Convertible.....looks like the interior and convertible top have been changed to black.
Appreciate the help.....best place to buy an Oldsmobile option code/build dates book??

One book I use is put out by Supercars Unlimited, called "4-4-2 By The Numbers". You will see it at Supercar's online catalog at www.supercarsunlimited.com. Although the book was put together to identify the 4-4-2 and what came with it, the book also crosses over a lot to the Cutlass and F85 models.
Another book I like, especially in identifying options, is the "Oldsmobile 4-4-2 and W-Machines Restoration Guide", by T. Patrick Sullivan. I've used it so much it's coming apart on me! It also has a lot of crossover, not only to other A-body models, but somewhat to B and C models, too.
And, a 1971 4-4-2/Cutlass assembly manual, or more properly called a "product information manual" (PIM) is also a must. I've seen them for sale on ebay for about $25. Another site I would check and join (it's free to join) is www.wildaboutcars.com. It's a little difficult at first navigating around that site but you will find lots of Oldsmobile literature that might be useful. If you are lucky, they just might have your assembly manual and, if they do, you can download it for free as long as it is for your personal use.
Those are my major sources for info.
