Scat Chevelle Rear Seat Cover for Cutlass?
Scat Chevelle Rear Seat Cover for Cutlass?
Hello y'all,
I'm trying to figure out if the Scat Rear Seat Cover Chevelle that is listed on Jegs will fit my rear seat of my 1970 Cutlass S 2 door. The Jegs rep says it's not listed that it would fit but are the 1970 Chevelle and Cutlass hard tops the same A-Body cars inside?
Thanks for your help!

All Divisions shared the same seat structures within the same carlines and body styles. So, for example, any Chevelle/Tempest/Cutlass/Skylark 2-door sedan can use the front or rear seat structure from another Division's A-body 2-door sedan. The upholstery pattern is the difference. This holds true for all body styles.
You may check, I'm dropping my 64 F-85 off at the upholstery shop later this week and the cost difference between them making a new rear seat cover and installing it is about the same price as the one from PUI and Legendary. Unless of course you supplying the labor of love.
I'm not entirely certain about the seat covers. The front seats are pretty common between the lines, but there's a bunch of variants of the rear seat, at least for Cutlass. convertible/S/Supreme are, I believe, all different. And there are year differences depending on what type of seat belt was used. e.g., I know the retractors in 72 caused a different shape of the back of the seat bottom than the pre-72 seats.
So - definitely maybe.
As said, if you used Scat black vinyl, you can likely get a local shop to make a cover to match quite easily.

Good points- the F-85 is a post car " sedan" and I believe the rear seat is a little wider than a convertible or Holiday coupe. So if I would need a replacement rear seat ( I may have to replace the bottom don't know yet) I would look at a wagon or a more door 64-65 that does not have the arm rest and ash try console. Not 100 per cent sure on this..
Wagon and four door rear seat CUSHION have rounded corners which might fit but would look goofy in a two door car. My post is kinda convoluted looking at it now, so:
All same year a-body 2 door hardtops use same rear seats.
All same year a-body 2 door post sedans use same rear seats.
All same year 4 door sedans and hardtops and some wagons use same rear seats.
2 doors use same front bench seats with exception of if car has a center armrest or not.
Have I got you thoroughly confused now?🤪
