Rear view mirror interchange

I have a 1969 Cutlass S convertible. The original rear view mirror with map light needs new silvering on the glass and is missing the switch and bulb socket components. It has the polished SS back, not the black as in later years.

Instead of trying to fix this, I was looking at buying a good looking replacement with working map light. I have seen no repops with the map light, so am looking at used.

I believe the mirror bracket is different between hardtops and ragtops. Are the mirror assemblies themselves the same, so that I could possibly buy a hardtop unit, unscrew the mirror assembly from the bracket, and reassemble on the convertible bracket?

Also, from pictures, it looks like other GM A-bodies used similar rear view mirrors as the Cutlass. Can someone confirm they interchange? If so, that opens up a few more doors for me.

Many thanks!
