Rear Quarter Window Off the Track

Rear Quarter Window Off the Track
The rear quarter window on my '71 SX convertible came off the track. Where can I find directions in the Factory Assembly Manual or CSM? I suppose I'll need to remove the interior panel to repair this?

The instructions would be in the Fisher Body Manual. They are not very in depth, either (at least in 72!)
Most likely, the lower, center roller has broke - common problem.
To see for sure, remove the black vent that is on the door jamb and look in the quarter with a good flashlight.
To access the mechanism for repair, the entire rear seat and the side trim panels will need removing. Then remove the cover plate and there is the mechanism. I have some photos of mine here, to see what you are up against...

Note the lower roller - it breaks after many years of use. They all require a special tool that you can either buy or make from a bar of metal and a couple of machine screws.

Rob is correct. You will need a Fisher Body manual. I recently removed the windows on my 71 98 to put on new window felts. I put the window felts on and then installed the windows again. However, I had a glass shop align all of the glass so I wouldn't have to deal with it. Plus, I figured they could do a better job than I ever could. Now, I don't have to worry about leaky windows. It cost me about $300 and he reomved all of the windows, cleaned the tracks, and reinstalled and aligned it for me in a few days.

Great photos Rob, and always very helpful. I pulled the black vent plate and the roller is still on there from what I can see, it's just not in the track. Looks like I'll need to order the Fisher Body Manual if I can't figure it out myself. (and get to pull the rear seat and door panel too)
