Question about painting console

I have taken apart my newly acquired console and i am all set to paint using SEM paint and also plan one using their adhesion spray too. The console is in great shape and doesn't have any issues on the main body. The lower half has some discoloration due to seat belts rubbing and the console lid is rough. My question is do you think I could get by painting those pieces and have it match nicely once back together. I am trying to avoid taking off the main chrome molding with the bent tabs. Thoughts?
Also does anyone know of a vendor that sells those plastics rivet like pieces that hold on the chrome around the lid on? I only had two of the four on there and drilled the other two out to get it apart.

The console was originally black and will be staying black.
