Is there anyway to recline the back support of a 68 Cutlass split bench seat? The current position is uncomfortable as I feel too close to the steering wheel.

 

As I've had to go the other way, [bad back] I've found washers under the seat hold-down bolts is the safest!

 

I think if you lean the seat forward, you will see a round or oblong hard rubber bumper near the outer edge. It is held in by a phillips screw. Take that out completely if you want & see how it feels then. Non destructive & easy to put back if you ever want to. The seat back may be a little loose against the locking mechanism though?
