Plastic Chrome Plating

If anyone is looking for Plastic Chrome Plating I have a great contact here in Detroit. They do a great job and I have used them for 4 years.
Things are tough right now for everyone in this state and if things dont pick up.. I fear Iwill lose this source.I will go out on the limb for these guys.
If anyone out there has that small piece of plastic trim, door handles ,an entire dash that you want plated and want to give it a shot at detailing, give me a line and I will direct you to Rod.
I have nothing to gain other than keeping a great supplier going.
I restore instrument panels for 1966 and 67 Cutlass 442 and F-85.
And my business is growing due to the quality of Plating I recieve from them.
If you are in the market to freshen up your Instrument Panel give me a call.
Thanks
Ron

Hey... Could you PM me the info as well?

I've got a few things that I am interested in having "plastichromed" as well. I am not sure on how much it would cost, but almost all of my plastic chrome is missing.

Ron - I have some small items I've accumulated over the years that I'd like to get done. Some bucket seat headrest escutcheons (disassembled down to the cap that gets the plastic chrome - I know, they're repro'd...doesn't matter), some bench seat headrest escutcheons and maybe few other items. I'll pm or email you. Might as well get them done so they are useful later on.

Thanks

I just got the chrome backing for my rear armrest bases back from Rod, they look great.
These are not repro'ed and I've never seen used ones for sale.
Thanks for the info Ron (rroth01).

Ron,

Please PM me the contac info.

With regards to plating plastic parts, does anyone know if they can be plated while attached to metal? I'm talking about things like the turn signal lever, which is metal but has a chromed plastic end piece.....on mine the chrome on the metal is fine, but is peeling on the plastic end piece. Or the chrome plastic ***** on the kick panel vent pulls, which can't be removed from the cables without destroying the *****.

thanks,
bob

The item I had plated had some metal clips on the back and they were plated right over, looked fine.

The best thing for their business right now would be to setup a website, would probably triple business.

Rod used to own the Company that supplies this service. He initiated a clause in the sale of that business that he could bring in work from the outside.Rod and I do a lot of business together and our concern is this.If this gets too big we wont have the time to pay special attention to the quality of our work, and the turn times.
We are all impatient when it comes to our cars .I know I am.
And bigger isnt always better.I have been fortunate in my Hobby as an IP Restorer due to the fact that the Lone Plater and detailer is overwhelmed with work due to the "OFFLOAD" from Platers going out of business. His quality has suffered ,His Customer Service has suffered and customers are looking in different directions.
I pride myself in Customer Service,Good Communications and exceeding thier expectations.
If I cant accomplish that.I am done.I wont participate.I wont jeopardize the look that your car deserves. You work hard for your money. In this economy ..Customers are extremely picky. They deserve to be.
Thanks for the suggestion.
Rod does a great job.
