Know this is an old post.. but...
the plastic lenses come out. Don't try to take off the entire chrome bezel... bec they are screwed into the C pillar. If you break a lense no bigge since they repro them. I hope this helps

The only reason why I knew that you couldn't remove the entire thing is that mine were not attached (I don't have a head liner at the moment). I am putting in all new light bulbs myself. I am glad that I found another person with a white 62 starfire!

previous owner replaced my headliner but left off the chrome bars, nice thing was they repadded the dash and the rear shelf, had to replace the frt seats though as they did those in a cheap gray vynal.

I need a headliner done myself, as well as new front seat covering. The dash was redone, but does not fit very well. The dash side pieces are not fitting right, and I can't get the trim toward the front of the dash in properly. But I guess that is just part of the fun of these old cars eh lol.
