ID these bucket seat backs???
Now I know these are not for 68 and older...but... are they an Oldsmobile part or specific to another GM brand with what looks like the pleated inserts on the backs? Local guy has this lot for sale (there are 4 seat lower panels BTW) Going to go look at them tomorrow.
Thanks

They will fit the standard 69-72 bucket seats (center of back release), but the chrome & pleats in the center of the back means they were originally in one of the big cars, Impala, Bonnevile, 88/98, Toronado, Riviera, Grand Prix, etc etc.
Not a big deal if the plastic is still in good shape. Usually the colored plastic deteriorates really badly- gets chalky and the grain flakes off. If the white isn't paint and is nice, they are worth grabbing. I kinda like the "luxury" inserts myself, think they look cool.

Yeah,
Big car almost for sure as they are the only ones with the vinyl inserts. Also, I noticed one of the sides is missing. I'd bet it was a power bucket & someone wanted it because of the switch/hole in it.
I recently found a '67 Eldorado with the strato bench seat in it that has some funky black/white hounds tooth inserts on the back of the bucket seat backs.

Ok, I have to ask. The cutout for the seat release is 70 - 72. Could these just be seat backs that have been customized by someone?
I 've searched the web and WAC site SPECS and can't seem to find this seat back. Does anyone have pics of a Monte, Grand Prix, Riviera etc showing the back of the seat?

69-72 had the release button in the center of the seat back.
I have seen several seat back's with the inner chrome ring before, and some w/ holes for the chrome ring thats missing.
These are the first I've seen with the pleats, but not a huge surprise to see them. The fancy cars had some fancy upholstery options.
W/o seeing them i couldn't say if they have been customized or not... but anything is possible.

strato bench was only availalbe in full size cars, not a-bodies... basically took strato bucket seat backs, and attached to a custom bench seat bottom, that had more "sporty" edges like the buckets vs a regular bench seat bottom. THere was also a padded armrest between the seats. Most were power seats & had passenger recline function in the seat back (which can be bolted onto regular bucket seat bottoms btw)
A lot of toronados came with them. Riv's too.
