How to restore 68-69 heater control

has anyone restored a heater control for a 68-69 Cutlass 442. I removed mine and it needs to be cleaned and repainted . Not sure how to do it or take it apart.

Normal cleaning [brake or carb cleaner] and then lube for the mechanism I reckon. I would love to find how to refresh the black painted face parts.
