Dash Repair

Dash Repair
Has anyone repaired a cracked dash pad? I have a small crack running from the top down around the driver vent port on my 69 442. I was thinking of using a filler and then spraying the entire dash pad with a satin black sealer.
Thanks

I can't comment on the crack, but for the satin black I would go with SEM landau black. It's the correct color and it's made to go over plastics vinyls and even carpet. It's about $12 a can at you local auto body supply store.

I just got a quote from them and it was slightly under 1,000.
So I cleaned my dash up with POR marine clean, Dawn Dishsoap, SEM Soap, SEM Vinyl and Plastic Prep then put several light coats of SEM Classic Coat. Came out great. Give it a try.

I worked in a car dealership for many years in the used car dept. We had repair venders for all different things, one being interior touchup and repair. You might ask the used car mgr at one of your local dealerships who they use to touchup theirs. I assure you they can work miracles for cheap.
