That looks like Dark Saddle, Light Saddle is more of a light tan color?
Almost looks like Sienna too, or is Sienna the same as Dark Saddle?

That big gap between your radiator and core support doesn't help cooling much BTW.

Rob's most excellent interior makeover major build thread shows the dark saddle interior color.
It looks light or dark depending on the lighting though?

Thanks for letting me borrow your thunder Rob.
Take over please.

This is confusing to me.
The paint color chip chart shows 949 as Dark Saddle for the interior color for the painted parts, no other brown colors.
949 is listed as the Saddle interior on the trim tag according to posts here.
The '72 Olds interior color carts show a Sienna interior and a Sandalwood interior??
Are those another name for GM Dark Saddle and Light Saddle or am I totally missing something here?
Sienna is the dark brownish-red, Sandalwood is the tan color right?
Do they both use the 949 Dark Saddle interior painted parts??

Everything I had ordered was dark saddle, sometimes called saddle.
This is what you would need if you wanted to stay stock.

Saddle was also offered in an earlier year but it was lighter in color if I remember right. This is sometimes referred to as "light saddle" in parts catalogs

To make matters more confusing, some vendors had the colors way wrong on repro parts years ago. I saw a 72 442 with repro seat covers and door panels that were ordered as dark saddle but had a distinct yellow-greenish tint to them - rather icky looking. He still won trophies though...

I remember Sienna was much lighter than dark saddle but cannot remember waht sandlewood looks like - i will have to check the books when i get home...

It's really hard to make an accurate assessment of what your car's color variations are due to the garage lighting in your video. I did see a non-1972 sport wheel and center cap if you're going for accuracy... ; )

Sienna was a 1971 trim color with a lot more red/rust tint to it. Sandalwood was a 1970 trim color and was a much lighter tan color than 1972's Saddle (949 and 979). There was no "light" saddle in 1972.

Here's a 3,000 mile original '72 Dark Saddle interior:

When I got my seats covered I had a hard time getting correct color. My 71 Cutlass is Sieanna.I ended up using Saddle which was close enough!I picked it out and went for it.He covered the back window and the kick panels with same color so it looks good.
