Clock Lens removal

hello everyone!

I am in the process of refurbishing my dash and gauges on my 72 cutlass. I have removed the gauges in anticipation of putting in new lenses. All of the lenses have come off easily except for the clock. The lens is caught up on the adjusting pin.

I know it’s a simple question but how do I go about removing the lens on the clock? I didn’t want to keep trying different methods because i was worried i may break the pin

I push the rubber sleeve down just a little bit & grip the stem with a pair of pliers & then Gently unscrew the **** from the stem. If it does not come loose easily, I hold the stem with a pair of pliers & use a small torch on the **** for several seconds & then use another pair of pliers to gently try to loosen the ****. This USUALLY works.
Good luck,
Scott
