Center AC vents Chrome or black?
I have a question about the center ac vents. Are the facing edges of the vent fins chrome or black? I think I see some minor traces of silver or chrome but I wanted to make sure before I do anything with them.

The edges are actually a process called Vacuum Metalizing.
It is an aluminum powder coated with a thin clear coat.
Looks good , but eventually wears off.
Because I am really picky, I disassembled mine and sent them to Chrometech to have the process done.
The paint pens are better than nothing, but not much better.

'68 & '69 are chrome. Just realized I have a '71 Vista w/AC. I'll go out into the freezing wind and snow to find out just for you. Please stay tuned. OK. Quick trudge through the snow and ice. Cheese. Mid April and white dots are still dropping out of the sky. A/C centre vent is dusty, dirty and chrome.
