First, please post the city and state your located in so if one of us has an extra set we can offer them. Second, if you watch ebay they're on there often, any of the 1969-72 A-body cars will fit they just have different stitching in the covers. John

I have also been looking for seats for my 71. I have seen them upwards to 700 on www.OPGI.com. My problem is finding a mount for them, I have been told that the mounts need to be fabricated. thats a horse of another color for me right now, I am replacing the head gaskets, intake, carb and headers (maybe headers, if the wife lets me). yours looks like mine! OLDSMOBILE IS THE ****!!

Prices for A-body buckets recently passed the moon. Rusty frames with only shreds of foam and upholstery regularly sell for $200 and up. Really nice buckets run well over $700. You'll also need the repro mounting brackets that weld to your floorpan. And a console I assume. Good luck with that. At GMs at Carlisle, one 4 spd console had a $1200 asking price. I assume the seller carried it home, however. $450 - $500 seems to be the going rate for a nice console.

What did you look at every thread i posted on?... STALKER!! Were did you find the repro mounts at? I looked all over and nothin. JC whitney has some pretty bitchen race seats for like $159 ea. and they come with the sliders and everything. But no mounts. The seats are kinda import/drag looking, but I dont really care because Im not trying to restore im just going for the rat rod street car look in my Olds.(see pic ) but I will keep the engine Olds and the rear end I am really fighting everything inside not to see about a ford 9 inch swap (if its do able).

try the old style hamer hit impacts ... they get em off pretty well.... My HDs have those darned hex bolts everywhere and something about the inforce driven by the hamer , and the turn at the same time seems to do it.......
regular numatic impacts just strip em......

I just did this and used another car to make a pattern to center the brackets on the floor in the right location. I could probably copy it if someone were interested. I think I got my brackets from Fusick's.

If you pay attention to the bucket seat auction over a little time, you can come across a set that can easily be recovered for about 400-450.

There's a place that sells referb'd consoles, complete with wire harness, brackets, etc, which I was referred to by Fusick's, and the auto one I got is real nice, think I paid 400 for it.
