Bucket seat question

I am swapping out, my '68 bench, and in, '72 Cutlass buckets, are the buckets identical? ( I know the sliding mechanism is side specific) ie: can I use ONE of the buckets as a "template" on BOTH sides of the car in order to install my conversion brackets......I ask because I have one bucket torn down and it would be easier to be lugging around just the seat base as opposed to the entire seat.
Thanks!

Yes, the buckets are identical. The original 1968 buckets had side-specific seatback release buttons, but the 1969-72 buckets have the release button in the center of the seatback.
