back seat insulation

back seat insulation
Anyone ever use, or work much with, mineral wool? I happen to have a couple of bats sitting around and since the blanket of whatever it was behind my seat crumbled to rubble, I thought I might use the mineral wool under and behind the seat before I re-install it (I've been running sound system wiring).
Will mineral wool produce airborne particles?

Mineral wool is pretty safe. Sometimes called Rock Wool and many other names.
It is insulation used in high heat situations like a furnace or an oven and other things.
Read for your self and decide, MSDS content below.

Thanks for the msds don. That was the first thing I did, looked for the safety sheet. Doesn't sound any worse than the carpeting in home. And the flame proof factor I thought was a bonus. I'll have to cut and piece it together to get it to fit. Too big to just shove in.

Yeah, this stuff is more like fiberglass than I remembered. But it's in now, behind the back of the seat but not the bench. I'll pull it if it gets messy. But honestly, no one ever sits back there. Didn't make a huge difference in exhaust noise inside the car though.
