Ashtray door springs

Finally found a reasonably priced ashtray door...hard to pay $60-$70 for .30 worth of plastic..Anyway, can someone enlighten me to the orientation of the springs....the "U" against or away from the edge of the door??

Thanks

Hey neighbor - I installed these on my 72 and as I recall, the bow goes towards the dash if that makes sense...if not, drive to Clayton and I'll show you . btw, there is a pretty good local show in Clayton on Saturday for the annual Harvest Festival...bring your Olds on down to C-Town.

Thanks

Scott-

Thanks for the tip, it makes complete sense. If I can't figure it out I may take you up on your offer....I believe beer is the traditional payment for car help/advice Would love to make it out for the show, but my daughter has her horse riding lessons on Saturday. Maybe another time, would love to meet of with some other Olds guys. Always nice to have some buds around to help, or be helped if needed. Thanks again! Tom

Tom - Is your CS black and are you involved in insurance? I think I might have met you at the show at Hendricks Auto in Cary back over the summer. Same car I see at the Fairgrounds all the time during the shows out there?

Nope...not me. I work for Wake County Schools and my CS will be black but she is wearing primer pajamas right now. Not quite show worthy, but a heck of alot fun to drive!! Still lots to do...but getting there is half the fun. Do you enter your car in shows?
