Finally found a reasonably priced ashtray door...hard to pay $60-$70 for .30 worth of plastic..Anyway, can someone enlighten me to the orientation of the springs....the "U" against or away from the edge of the door??

Hey neighbor - I installed these on my 72 and as I recall, the bow goes towards the dash if that makes sense...if not, drive to Clayton and I'll show you . btw, there is a pretty good local show in Clayton on Saturday for the annual Harvest Festival...bring your Olds on down to C-Town.

Thanks for the tip, it makes complete sense. If I can't figure it out I may take you up on your offer....I believe beer is the traditional payment for car help/advice Would love to make it out for the show, but my daughter has her horse riding lessons on Saturday. Tom - Is your CS black and are you involved in insurance? I think I might have met you at the show at Hendricks Auto in Cary back over the summer. Same car I see at the Fairgrounds all the time during the shows out there?

 

Nope...not me. I work for Wake County Schools and my CS will be black but she is wearing primer pajamas right now. Not quite show worthy, but a heck of alot fun to drive!! Still lots to do...but getting there is half the fun. Do you enter your car in shows?
