8 track install 71 olds 442

I now realize I need to cut a\c my duct or buy one @195.00.I would prefere to try cutting first but want a good result. If anyone could offer any tips, ideas or pictures it would be helpful. bob 71 442 rag top

i have the correct passenger side one. i can post a picture of it so you know where to cut. if you take your time cutting it there is no difference other than the part number molded into the back side. i don't know about the driver side, i only have the right one. i will look for it and get a couple pictures. i have never cut one of these but i have cut many plastic 4 wheeler race finders. i found that a cut off wheel for a dremel works great. cut it a little longer than you need and file it down to the correct length and shape.

the end you have to cut is a little rounded so my measurements will be hard to go by. the top side is close to 19-3/4 long. the bottom side is 19 inches long. i would cut it about 1/4 inch or more longer and then file it till it fits correctly. just don't mark the two sides and cut it because the middle wil not be long enough. it rounds out a little.

I'll try to post some pics as well as I have both sides, they are different part numbers but once you cut yours you will never know the difference visually form the outside, that is what most people do when installing 8-tracks.

I have all the pictures on dimensions and drilling, but they are too big to post here.

Post your e-mail, and I will fix you up.
