‘72 Cutlass pull strap removal

I need to remove the driver side door panel on my ‘72 convertible. How do I remove the chrome covers on each side of the door pull strap without breaking them? Thanks, Roqetman.

Pry from the strap side. A thin screwdriver works well.
There is a metal clip riveted onto the dress cover. Sometimes the rivets break. Easy enough to epoxy back together if it does break.
