Started redoing the front seats on my 72. The drivers side bottom had a really bad popped seam. I started replacing both front covers. The back seat is near perfect and original. got PUI covers going on from OPG. So far they are looking good. Need to make more adjustments to the drivers seat back. Also replacing the original carpet while we are at it.

 

Looks good , I had one seat like that too, I'm waiting to reinstall carpet and seats on my project as well, I'm going to put some kind of heat noise reducer in before carpet, are you adding anything like that as well?

 

Yah thinking about putting a dynomat material down. We are doing my dads 57 interior so we should have some left for my car.

 

You're recovering them yourself? Have you ever done it before?

My drivers seat seems like it needs new foam($$$), but maybe if I have the drivers done, I could try my hand at the passenger?

 

I did these with a friend. The foams where/are in great shape on my seats. Only things needed were covers and hog rings

 

Several people have posted various tips about doing this over the years. I think the best one I heard was to put a Contractors grade garbage bag over the seat prior to installing the new cover to ease getting the new cover on and in position.

 

Nice job, looks good! I didn't even seats on my 71 by myself as well, wasn't crazy hard. I reused the old foam as well. They were a little worn, but very comfortable so I didn't want to lose that. A clothes steamer worked well for me on installing and smoothing out the wrinkles.
