I'm considering removing the factory 8-track player from my Cutlass. Neither it nor the radio works and I'm just not in a position to get them rejuvenated -- even if that is possible with the 8-track. After removal there will be a gap between the lower dash AC vents for some kind of knee valence or some such name. Is this re-popped anywhere? If not I might have to leave the non-functional unit in there.

 

The lower vents on non-8 track cars was a single piece. It got cut for the 8 track. You need to find a good used one to replace it.

I bought a real nice lower color matched AC vent panel from member 442crzy when I was doing the opposite. I was putting an aftermarket, under dash 8 track in my car and did not want to cut the original part. The one he sent me was as nice or even nicer than the original on my low mileage 442!
