66 olds front bench seat adjustment

Curious if there is an adjustment to have the front bench seat to slide further aft? I oiled the seat tracks that were sticking and hard to slide, it works easily now from full forward to full aft using the adjustment lever, but doesn’t seem to travel aft enough. It seems to bottom out to full aft position but still would be more comfortable if it had more aft adjustment. Seeking suggestions. Could it be a loose mounting bolt on the track jamming it up?

After 57 years of use, all manner of gunk and grime can get into the seat tracks. Your best bet is to remove the seat from the cabin, then remove the seat tracks from the seat bottom.

At that point, you can see if something is inhibiting the fore/aft travel.

Cheers

I just figured it out. I took the drivers seat track out. Low and behold there is a screw that limits the aft travel. Plus being 57 years old. I doused it with penetrating oil and free it up, but there is a roller that hits a small screw stopping it from traveling any further. I removed the small Phillips head screw and got it to travel about 2 inches further aft. The seat track attach bolt keeps it from sliding aft off the track. Not sure why that screw is there. Much easier to get in and out of now. Thanks for your reply. 😊
