66 interior questions

I have a 66 442. The floor shifter is typical in that it broke at the top and would not work. I bought a kit from shiftworks that replaces the t handle with a round ball including an adapter to the original shifter shaft. This is not one of shiftworks finest moments, and the adapter is not threaded long enough to work consistently correctly. Can a 67 floor shifter be used as a direct replacement? There may be some modification that can be made to the shiftworks adapter.
Second question. The door panels have vertical trim pieces near the center. All four of mine have the pins that fasten to the door panel broken. Is there any source for these trim pieces>

I have been told that the 67 shifter will work with the 66 console but I would call it far from a direct replacement. The 66 is a linkage operated shifter , the 67 is cable operated. You would need the shifter , shifter cable, and the two brackets for the trans, not to mention making a plate to fill the opening in the floor. What doesn't work for the shiftworks conversion?
As far as I know the door panel trim is not being reproduced, place a wanted add for them. I may have a couple extra, pm me if you want to look for them
