1973 Vista — What do I need to swap in a 4-spoke rally steering wheel?

I just bought a beautiful 73 Vista Cruiser from the original owner. I want to swap in a 4-spoke rally wheel. I know I need a horn button (this wheel doesn’t have one), but do I also need a horn contact kit or will the stock horn contact hardware work?

Yes, you will need the contact kit. About $6 at most Camaro repro vendors.

Which "existing hub"? The four spoke comes with a hub. You also need the horn contact ring that the center button snaps into.

I’m looking at an original OEM 4 spoke wheel. It is bare with no hub or horn button.

For future reference, all I needed was the hub, horn button hardware that screws onto the wheel and hub, and the small 3-piece horn contact kit.

I did NOT need an aftermarket plastic turn signal cancel cam as the stock one still works with the sport wheel. Nowhere online tells you this, so if anyone sees this, don’t buy a cancel cam.

Who told you the cancel cam needed to be changed?

Also changing to a sport wheel

I just upgraded from the '73 Omega factory wheel to a 4 spoke. Regarding the horn contact, my previous wheel had the wire with spring that pushed in the hole, then twisted to keep in place where the other end of the wire connected to the back side of the horn. Of course that wire won't work for the new wheel, so do I need to purchase the contact kit to make the horn work?

Thanks Kfitz, do I also need to replace the cancel cam, (which I believe is the black circular piece on the right side of the attached pic?
