1972 cutlass glove box lock removal

I'm sorry to ask this question again, but I can't find the reply on this back.
I need to change out my glove box inner door, It's cracked. So I need to take the lock apart to get the inner door apart from the outer door.
I know there is something to press with a small screwdriver in a little window to get the lock apart. Well if someone can help out I would really apprciate it. Thanks Barb.

[QUOTE=rmoths;480362]Thanks, but I don't seem to have the right key apparently. I only have two keys ignition and trunk, and the trunk key doesn't go in the door lock. So without the proper door key I can't get this apart. Well maybe I can get the inner door off some other way.
Thanks Barb.

If you take it to a locksmith they can make a key for it for cheap enough. I got three keys cut and i didnt have one for my glove box either and it cost me 25 bucks.

Exactly - you basically pick it out one tumbler at a time. Not too hard.

Thanks, I think I'll take it to a local locksmith and see what he can do. If nothing else I'll file the hole around the lock a little bigger so I can take the back of the door off.
Thanks again, Barb.

Well I took my Dremmel and with a small bit I ground just enough away to slide the back of the door off. It looks OK, I just had to grind away just enough to get past the door latch. Barb.
