1970 Cutlass steering wheel trim

I have the standard steering wheel in my 1970 Cutlass W31. The wheel itself is in great shape but the chrome plated plastic insert that runs the circumference of the rim is cracked and broken. Does anyone know who supplies a replacement. I will need more than to rechrome the plastic as the plastic is brittle and broken in some areas. I am looking for a new chrome plated plastic insert.

Hi Tom,

I've got the same problem with the standard steering wheel in my 72 W30. I've been asking around at Carlisle for years and it seems the steering wheel resto guys don't want to mess with it. I would think when the demand gets high enough someone will figure it out....just hasn't happened yet. If anyone has any newer info on this topic please let us know.

take care,
bob
