I think I'll never be able to unsee that...

The wing is a real aesthetic triumph.

Yeah. I recall my parents' wagon had an air deflector that I suppose was to prevent dust buildup on the rear window. This wing monstrosity looks as if it would do the opposite.

The worst part for me is, someone actually thought this was a good idea.

It would have made more sense to mount the wing vertically on the tail gate. Wouldn't have looked any better, but would have made more sense.

Hey at least this takes our attention away from the None of None 442 Vista Cruiser two door Supreme wagon.

I like that wagon-except for the wing.

I agree Greg. It would be pretty cool if it were not for the wing,

I agree, Kenneth. That's one of the two design problems that would let exhaust enter the tailgate area.
  1. The wing creates a negative pressure area at the back of the car that is filled with (dirty) air passing under the car
  2. The exhaust exiting the back would fill the negative area with exhaust gasses. Wagon exhaust exits to the side to avoid that problem.
Obviously I'm a fan of wagons from an alternate universe and the exterior is technically well done. But the wing, the wing!. Arghhh.

The creator perhaps ran out of money after doing the exterior. Many of the interior and undercar views show embarrassing gaffes and lack of basic cleaning. The Fisher Body plate looks to be covered with stucco.

New carpet is quite cheap but the original, faded carpet was left in place and money spent on strange gauges.

Why the bird screen on the scoops when there is no outlet into the engine compartment? Again, it looks as if the finishing process were aborted.

Shoddily done, even for a one-of-none. Obviously done by somebody who doesn't know or care much about Oldsmobiles. For 41 grand, I'd expect a lot more attention to detail. For instance:

1) Should have 4-4-2 grille.
2) "Olds" emblem on hood should be removed.
3) Should have boxed rear LCAs and swaybar.
4) Square exhaust tips??
5) Chicken wire screens in scoops are unspeakably cheesy.
6) What's with the vintage 1966 Cragar steering wheel?
7) Cheap offshore carpeting.
8) At least the gauges aren't digital, but they're still pretty ugly.
9) Why is there an ignition switch in the dash?
10) And what are those weird "Kustom" controls next to it?
11) I don't know who signed the glovebox door but they should be ashamed of themselves. Oh, wait -- it's Linda Vaughan. Well, still.
12) I'm not even going to get started on the mess under the hood.
13) Yes, that wing thing.
14) And so much more ... I can't even count all the ways I hate this car. I'd just about buy it to make it back into a decent Vista-Cruiser to save a once-proud Oldsmobile from being laughed off the road.

It's a typo on the price, one too many zeros.
