National Hurst/Olds Day

This Saturday, May 22nd is National Hurst/Olds day sponsered by the Hurst/Olds Club of America, see www.hurstolds.com for a possible location near you. If you have an H/O, break that bad boy out of storage and stop on by and hang out with fellow H/O owners.

I'm co-hosting the Chicago area celibration at Augustino's Rock N Roll Deli, Rt 59 & North ave, West Chicago, IL, 10:00am thru 3:00pm.

Well, we had a great National Hurst/Olds day in the Chicago area, we had one of every year production Hurst/Olds show up, first time ever on that... just put some pic's up on www.hurstolds.com in the H/O Day link, will be adding more as other areas submit theirs.

I say every year I'm going to try to host one, and every year my job makes damn sure I can't do it.

This year would have been good too. VIR had vintage racing going on and a herd of Hurst/Oldsmobiles attending would have made quite a picture.

Yes, we did have a good day, first time we had a car for every year of H/O production. The '73 belongs to Darrel Bauma, it is a beautifil car, he just refinished restoration on it. Darrel is a GM mechanic and I believe he worked on everything himself except for the paint possibly.

I used to know Darrel years ago and lost track of him. Earlier this year, on my way to work, saw a 73 H/O outside an exhaust shop. Stopped to admire the car. Who comes walking up, but Darrel himself. Was good to see him after 25-30 yrs.
