Looking for an engine for 69 H/O

I am looking for a short block replacement for my car. The short block I have in mine is junk and I want to replace it.

It is not the original engine, but a 2nd replacement.

The original was exchanged under warrantee by Olds due to the oil pump seizing. Had that one rebuilt and it grenaded 12000 miles later. Literally. I threw one rod thru the oil pan and up to the block. The 2nd one went thru the oil pan and ate 6 inches of the block. Broke the cam in to three pieces.

The replacement engine was never cleaned correctly and had horrendous over heating!

If any one knows where to get a short block or complete engine, please let me know.

I'm up in Medford Oregon and I've got several extras. I'm not sure where Williams is, but if it's not too far to drive your welcome to come take a look. If your too far away I'd suggest watching Craigslist in the communities nearby. John

How much would you want for a rebuildable short block? Medford is only 250 miles from Williams, straight down I-5 (100 miles south of Redding). We could come up toget it.

I'll send you a pm to discuss prices. You should also check with Gene (64rocket) as he lives in Union City CA. I'm thinking he may be much closer for you. If he doesn't have a spare he might have some leads on one in the area.

You need to go see John, if for no other reason then to see his parts collection and meet him. I bought my 455 from him for the 48 and I live is Seattle, WA.
