Hurst/Olds show at Indy Motor Speedway today

I was at Kroger in Plainfield Indiana last night and ran into a 1983 Hurst Olds. Awesome. They said it was over 50 or 150 Hurst Olds at a show August 6-9th at IMS. They're stayin at a hotel that starts with a W by Rockville and 465. banquet tonight at 6 or so at IMS i think.

Rocketraider posted on another forum that several G-body H/Os were stolen from the host hotel parking lot!

I couldn't make it to the show, but we stopped by last night and saw 3 '69 Hurst Olds, Several '72's, a '74, '79, several '84's and some '83's. There was this wagon, was it a '68?

I couldn't make it, unfortunately.
The wagon should be a 72 (medical director or press).
Hopefully I'll make it next year.

They move it around. I think this was the 3rd or 4th time at Indy. They like to go there given the association with the 72 pace car. Part of the festivities included the chance to drive a parade lap around the track in your H/O--that would have been very cool!

And once again the 1974 Pace Car program is forgotten, or dissed.

Sorry. Owning a 74 P/C replica with a Festival pedigree, it's a touchy subject.

Perhaps this was the wagon you saw, Ron Memmer made it as a 1967 442 Tribute replica, pretty cool.. has 400 tri-power in it.

Yeah, it was like that, it was dark so hard to tell exact colors and I'm not big on wagons, but it was interesting. I hope someone gets on here and posts the date sooner next year so I can make the real show and I hope it's in Indy next time too!

Sorry Rocketraider. It was definitely a case of forgotten, not dissed. I want to get a 72 convertible one of these days, so that is where I focus my thoughts.

Ice, sorry you missed it. The club returns to Indy every 5 years, 2009 and next s/b in 2014. Next years meet (2010) is scheduled for Dalton, GA, home of Linda Vaughn.
