h/o or not h/o?

howdy olds guys and gals. been awhile since i've been here and i really need some help. i purchased a convertible shell from a guy in chicago off ebay. the vin states it's a 71 supreme convertible. i know h/o's have the w-45 code on the tag. my questions are these: 1- can this be a "concept" car seeing it has the paint scheme? the striping is painted not decals. 2- can this be an "after-the-fact" car that was pulled off the lot and a customer wanted the h/o look? and to boot, it was a 4-speed car!!! any help is greatly appreciated. thx, brian

Below is a picture of the 1972 Concept/Prototype car, allthough not a convertible, it indeed was a 1972. Is there anything about the car that leads you to believe that someone just didn't paint it maybe 20 years ago because they liked 1972 H/O stripes?

Looks like it was painted after the fact. Blue/green paint elsewhere on car? See a clutch pedal but no hole for manual trans shifter.....maybe a 3 speed on column car. I doubt it is anything but a 71 Cutlass conv. There were no 71 H/O's or pace cars.
