83 Hurst Olds motor swap

Pulled the 307 and 200 trans out of my 83 Hurst this weekend. Built a small block 383 and 350 turbo. This is temporary while I fix all the leaks in stock motor and trans. Going to bring it back to all original in a few years. Going to have some fun with bigger motor for a few years though

350 Olds bolts right in, without all the problems of switching everything from side, which is a real pia!!

The olds 350 would have been nice. Your exactly right it was a real pia dealing with the motor mounts and a few things being on the wrong side. The mounts for the chevy motor are toward the front of the block. It sets further back in the engine compartment. Still trying to find a 8.5" rear instead of the 7.5 open rear that came stock in 83.

What about it is a hack?? Putting in a new motor and trans until I can come up with the money and time to go through the orginial ones? If you read my first post its only tempary and my plans are to bring it back to all original eventually.

I hope so.

I know what I'm doing with my Delta and the plans I have for it. That's why I don't buy a rare car like a 442, Hurst, or Pace Car, because I couldn't bring myself to modify a rare car like that and I could NEVER drop a Chevy in an Olds. Even if it is a temp thing

That's just me

If you would like to fund my project I'd gladly put an olds in it. The Chevy parts are half the price and obviously much easier to find. As I've stated before this is a temporary swap. I have the 307 on a stand along with the trans. In a few years I'm sure you'll be looking at some picture of it when I switch it back.

Now theres an option, put up or be constructive!

Don't listen to the negativity, it's your car to do what you wish! A small wiring change and a few bolton mods, it will be a very fun car to drive and easily changed back.

I'm sure your right, but in a few years is when I'll look at the pics.

I'll pay for your project, you pay for my 330 swap into my Delta

Its an Oliver. Its not mine but I think its an 60's-70's. He uses it as a pulling tractor. Has quite a few mods but as far as I know its orginial.
