70-72 OAI Vac. Motor Rebuilding?

Has anyone had their original OAI vac. motor rebuilt? Has someone figured out how to take one apart, rebuild, replate and reassemble without damaging it? I know they are repo'ed, but I would like to reuse my original one.

Does it not work as you suck on it? sparky (sparkys carb) has replated them for me in the past. There is a slight variation to them.

Mine works fine. I just thought it might be good to have the diaphragm replaced - if it is possible - while it is apart. Did Sparky replate an original one? The repo ones look different to me.

the AMC guys have been repairing them for years...i cant remeber what they do, but it involves a condom..no joke...really..i'm not joking...a friend of mine used to fix them for the AMC club...

also..the 71-74 javelins with A/C have a vacuum motor on the inside fire wall with just a little work will work too..and they are always mint, they are under the dash..ive pulled some that look and act NOS..im positive, people where converting them and selling them as H/O etc..the SC/ramblers, Rebel Machines, 70 Jav/AMX 71-74 AMX with ram air use the same vac motor as the OAI...so if ya get creative.....you can do it on the cheap

Sent mine off to Sparky's. Hopefully Greg can do something with it. If not the AMC thing might be worth investigating - thanks for the tip.
