I finally broke down and ordered a spare tire hold down rod and hex nut for my SS1 trunk wheel. When I get it all in and tightened up, it seems to me that the threaded end that stands up above the wheel is too long. There is a lot of wasted thread at the top. How much thread should there be when nut is tight on an OEM one? These pieces are from Fusicks.
