grease fittings
hi, I have to replace 3 or 4 fittings that wont take grease on the front end of my 71 Cutlass. What size are used on these cars? I've seen many different sizes before at the parts stores and I dont always trust inexperienced staff. I also dont want to miss checking any either...how many are there in total? I remember my dad showing me how to grease his 71 Cutlass when I was a kid, but that was 25 years ago! thanks, Bil

Each ball joint- four; each tie rod end - four; idler arm usually one; pitman arm usually one...check the drive shaft both ends for two; sometimes the clutch cross shaft has one; take one out and go to the store with it...the drive shaft should be one size smaller...

You can buy an assortment of zirc fittings, then all you have to do is match them up. Sometimes there is caca that builds up in there. You may be able to unscrew the offending ones and clean them out by soaking in solvent.
