'66 442 missing turn cancel cam

Hi everyone,
My recent 442 purchase has a few missing links... My turn signal was not
cancelling and no horns..
I pulled the steering wheel and no cam at all... I found a NOS '67 cancel
cam, but it must be different than the '66, the cams were just too small to cancel...
Where can I get a cancel cam for non-tilt wheel, and does it come with the
necessary parts to get the horn working also...
If anybody has a pic of the correct part, that would be helpful also

64-66 (exc tilt wheel) shows part# 382931. 67 IS different. Locator shows Modern Chevrolet in N. Carolina. They sell a lot of repro parts so some vendor may sell it. If not, Moderns' ph# is 800-334-0165. Maybe they have a website or could e-mail a pic to you.

To Frankr442,
Thanx... Called Modern and ordered one.. $19.95 + shipping.... He couldn't tell me
if it had any springs or buttons for the horn... I can probably make one if I need it.

The pics show how your 66 horn wire should look inside the wheel, the little white plastic thing just pushes into the tube on the cancel cam, the spring is already on there, the wire has the contact attached which makes contact inside the cancel cam.
The other pic is parts from GM you may need to repair your stuff if it doesn't look like it should, the part # is visible 474102. Available from any GM dealer or from gmpartsdirect.com.

To 66luvr,
That really helps.. Part numbers are a blessing.... I see that you did the 442 for your
son on his 16th birthday... I did the same for my son except it was a '65 Mustang, and
he did not have a clue that it was coming, he's 31 now, and wishes he still had it, after
selling it and getting a used Saturn that the engine blew 3 weeks later... (KIDS)!
Thanx again for your help... I'll be ordering the contact next... Bill

Wow, my son is 31 also, his birthday was march 30. I had him help me with the car beginning when he was 14, so he could get an idea of what it takes to get it looking good. It was almost finished when he got his driver license in the summer of 97. He says his car will never leave. That may be true, I tried to get him to sell it a few times, like when he wanted to buy a house, he refused, each time he says it will never be sold. But he will not go to, nor go with me to a show or cruise-in. He isn't really a car guy.
Oh and it is a Cutlass not a 442. The grille was in it when I got it, I added the tail lights a couple years ago because they are the only new tail lights available for the 66, and because I like them better. But there is no 442 emblems on it anywhere, the emblem in the grille is "Cruiser", from a Vista Cruiser. No one ever notices it and no one comments about it at all.

A few years back he decided he wanted another Mustang... Without telling me he bought a '69 Mach One fastback... Paid $3200. no motor or trans... really sorry condition... "Our Project".. He left it at my shop and wanted me to work on it... He lives 3 hrs away. started removing bondo and found almost every panel was in deep need of replacement or repair including the top and floor... Way too much time and money were needed... even the engine compartment had been hacked up aroung the strut towers.... I convinced him to sell and look for a better project, he sold and is looking.. My sons BD is Aug 13th, 1981... When he played football in high school one of the teams he played against had Aaron Rodgers as there QB.. "Green Bays" QB..
Chico. Ca is his hometown... Bill
