1975 W-30 questions

Im interested in buying a 75 cutlass...it has w-30 stickers on it. It has a 442 hood. How or what do i look for to verify it was a w-30 from factory. I decoded vin and it came back as a 2 door coupe with a 455 in it. It had no info on the w-30 option or how to identify if it really is a w-30. Can you help please. YOU CAN EMAIL ME AT ONERMECHE@GMAIL.COM THANKS

You should start a new thread for this but I'm pretty sure after researching it a little the VIN should start with 3j57t5m, with the "t" being the important letter.

I started a new thread for this topic since it really didn't apply to the old thread.

The only "W-30" reference used by Olds in 1975 was on the Hurst/Olds. W-25 was used to designate the 350-powered cars and W-30 for the 455 cars. The engine had nothing in common with a classic W-30 except bore and stroke. Note that the W-30 decals are readily available, so if it's not a real H/O, the decals have likely been added by a previous owner.

The absense of quarter windows, alll stripes match research i found. H/o emblems match, a 455 cid motor and the presense of a oldsmobile hood ornamint said to be only on the w-30. I guess its the real deal. The car came without a/c. Bummer

So the w 30 was to show it had a 455...ok cool...the car has all the markings of a true w-30 hurst olds. To many things about the car to be a fake. Soon as i get it i will post pictures. The one thing that i question is in that year all interiors are said to be white. I found 3 other pictures of other cars like it, all of those had white door panels along with the seats. This car has black door panels. All the rest is white. Why does it have black?

I always found white to get dirty real fast, so he may have changed them.
Ask - but if that's the only difference, and you're pretty certain it's authentic - go for it!
Can always be changed back.
